小白老师说:34岁的医生英年早逝,捐献器官救六人。正如新闻所报道的,“他像一道光,重新点燃所有人心中燃烧过的灰烬。” 向宋巍医生和他的家人致以最崇高的敬意!

5月31日,长海医院(Shanghai Changhai Hospital)进修医生(a trainee doctor)宋巍突发脑干出血(suffered an acute brainstem hemorrhage),虽经全力抢救,仍然回天乏力。6月15日晚,宋巍的生命走到了终点(was pronounced dead),年仅34岁。

他的双亲和妻子得知噩耗后毅然决定,帮他完成最后的心愿(decided to complete his final wishes)——捐献肝脏、肺、肾脏、角膜(corneas)和皮肤组织(skin tissue),拯救等待器官移植的病人。

“他是一名医生,救死扶伤是他的天职(He is a doctor. Healing the wounded and saving the dying was his life mission)。虽然他走了,但是捐出器官可以拯救更多病人的生命!” 宋巍医生的妻子马女士含着眼泪说。

上海市红十字会(Shanghai Red Cross Society)常务副会长高解春说:“上海人体器官捐献志愿者登记已超过5000例(the number of registered organ donors in Shanghai exceeds 5,000)。”

Living donation 活体器官捐献

Living donation offers another choice for transplant candidates, and it saves two lives: the recipient and the next one on the deceased organ waiting list. Even better, kidney and liver patients who are able to receive a living donor transplant can receive the best quality organ much sooner, often in less than a year.

Deceased donation 遗体器官捐献

Deceased organ donation is the process of giving an organ or a part of an organ, at the time of the donor’s death, for the purpose of transplantation to another person. At the end of your life, you can give life to others.

Facts about Organ Donation

1. One organ donor can save up to eight lives. The same donor can also save or improve the lives of up to 50 people by donating tissues and eyes.
