小白老师说：全国医博英语考试的一大出题趋势就是习语题的增加，2016年的听力中也多处考到习语题。我们今天要讲的这个习语 “feel under the weather” 曾在医博英语考试中多次考到。

1. She isn’t feeling well.
2. She is under pressure.
3. She doesn’t like the weather.
4. She is feeling relieved.

听力原文：

M: Are you having problems like weakness, fatigue, or headaches?
W: Well, I certainly felt under the weather.
Question: What does the woman mean?

分析：男士问女士有没有虚弱、疲劳或头痛等问题，女士答道 “我确实感觉不舒服”。这个 “不舒服” 就是用习语 “feel under the weather” 来表达的。

好的，我们再来回看一遍选项**▼**

1. She isn’t feeling well. 她感觉不舒服。
2. She is under pressure. 她压力很大。
3. She doesn’t like the weather. 她不喜欢这个天气。
4. She is feeling relieved. 她觉得很放心。

问题问的是“女士是什么意思？”，显然选项 A 才是正确答案。你做对了吗？

在这个短对话里面，考察的就是习语:

feel under the weather

这个习语的意思是“某人感觉不舒服（doesn’t feel well)，有点小病（slightly ill）”的意思。

另外， under the weather 也可以形容一个人喝醉了（intoxicated)，或者有点小悲伤（sad），或小抑郁（depressed)▼****

比如：

1. Sorry. Actually, I feel a bit under the weather today.
   不好意思。其实我今天不太舒服。
2. I feel really under the weather. I’ve got a sore throat and a bad cough.
   哦！我感觉实在很糟。我的喉咙肿痛，咳嗽得也很厉害。

我们可以把这个习语写成：

be under the weather，或者 feel under the weather，都是OK的。意思一样。

这个习语在 2013 年的第 12 题也有考到。因为公众号一篇文章只允许插入一个音频，所以就不给大家放录音了，这一题的原文是这样的：

W: Why didn’t you come to work yesterday?
M: I was feeling a little under the weather.
W: Did you go to see the doctor?
M: No, nothing serious.
Question: Why didn’t the man go to work yesterday?

选项如下：
A. He was unhappy.
B. He was feeling a bit unwell.
C. He went to see the doctor.
D. The weather was nasty.

显然答案应该是选 B。
