D: I need a few tests done. I shall need a specimen of urine from you. Please take this container, when you’ve done it you need to take it to the bacteriology department. I also need some blood samples to make sure you haven’t got a urine infection, and an ultra-scan of your kidneys.

P: Can I have those entire tests today then?

D: I have the results back, your kidneys are fine, but your urine specimen and blood test show that you have a urine infection, so I am going to prescribe a course of antibiotics, and some medication to help the cystitis. I also suggest that you carry on drinking as much water as you can.
