国际会议英文发言｜代读人、代演讲人如何说明情况、问候听众

**小白老师说：****演讲嘉宾因为生病或临时有事无法参加会议时，常常会由他人代替演讲或代为宣读其论文。****此时，代读人应首先向听众简单说明原演讲嘉宾未能到场的原因，再表明自己会全力以赴的决心。**参加会议的代表如果需要传达本单位领导的祝福，应在演讲一开头就传达清楚。

You are all aware that Dr. Zhu was supposed to have delivered a lecture. But he regrets that he could not be here due to illness and has submitted his paper to me. I am afraid I am quite unable to take his place adequately. What little I have to say will not be a lecture, but only a few remarks on this symposium and its subject matter.
