Very sharp! 太机智了！

He is sharp. 他很机敏。

sharp 是个很棒的词，可以用来夸人。

我们知道 sharp 一般是指“锋利的，急剧的”，其实这个词还可以指人“机敏的 ”。If you describe someone as sharp, you are praising them because they are quick to notice, hear, understand, or react to things.

所以 sharp 是一个褒义词，隐含了赞许的意味。例如：

He is very sharp, a quick thinker and swift with repartee.

他很机敏、思维敏捷并且能机智应答。

She is very sophisticated. 她十分干练。

sophisticated [səˈfɪstɪkeɪtɪd] adj. 老练的；干练的

这个词首先可以指人“老练的；久经世故的”。Someone who is sophisticated is comfortable in social situations and knows about culture, fashion, and other matters that are considered socially important. 例如：

Claude was a charming, sophisticated companion.

克劳德是个有魅力、见多识广的伙伴。

sophisticated还可以指人“干练的”。例如：

A sophisticated person is intelligent and knows a lot, so that they are able to understand complicated situations. 例如：

These people are very sophisticated observers of the foreign policy scene.

这句话有两个语言点：

jolly [ˈdʒɒli]

jolly 可以作形容词，也可以作副词。作形容词的时候表示“愉快的；欢乐的；宜人的”；在今天的这个句子中，jolly 是副词，意思是“很；非常”，用来修饰形容词或副词，表示强调。例如：

She was jolly good at jigsaws. 她拼图玩得很棒。

open-hearted

open-hearted 的英文解释是 kindly and warm，即和蔼热心、善良真诚。千万不要翻译成“开心的”啊。

refined 是个形容词，意思是“彬彬有礼的; 举止文雅的”。If you say that someone is refined, you mean that they are very polite and have good manners and good taste. 例如：
