来看今天的长难句：

Darley observed that among acts involving unintentional harm, six-year-old children just entering kindergarten could not differentiate between foreseeable, and thus preventable, harm and unforeseeable harm for which the perpetrator cannot be blamed.‍‍‍

难点分析

这是一个主从复合句，难点在于句子结构复杂。在做长难句分析时，我们要学会分辨修饰成分、找准句子主干。‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

在这个长句中，observed 后面 that 引导宾语从句，从句中的 among… 是状语，先忽略不看；six-year-old children 是句子的主语，可以提取出来，entering kindergarten 为现在分词修饰主语，也可以忽略；后面紧跟着出现了谓语 could not differentiate between A and B。A 值得是 foreseeable harm（注意中间插入成分 and thus preventable），B 指的是 foreseeable harm，后面有定语从句进行修饰。

这样一分析，句子主干就出来了：six-year-old children could not differentiate between foreseeable harm and unforeseeable harm。再加入修饰成分，整个句子的意思就清清楚楚了。
